Springing Ahead with Booger Academy April 2025 Newsletter

We've got a spring in our step after our first Booger Academy of 2025. Team members from all chapters learned more about the science of fueling, different types of food energy, and how to interpret food labels! We also grounded down with discussion about race mode mentality, staying positive through hardship, and strategies to stay focused when the pressure is on. Booger Academy will continue with two more gatherings, and year-round at camps & big races with hands-on learning!

Little Booger 2025 Dates Announced!

Skills, thrills, games, and new friends are on tap for Little Booger 2025! We'll be returning with days for young shredders in Seattle and NEW events for our friends in Oregon. Join us at Big Finn Hill Park in Kirkland, Woodland Park in Seattle, and at the Sisters Stampede in Oregon! Cost of registration is a non-perishable good that we'll bring to the food bank!

XC Pro Cup Kickoff: Vail Lake

Blue skies in Temecula had Boogers flying high! It was a fantastic opening weekend for our Flying Booger program, with more than 20 riders from 3 different states competing in the first round of the US Pro Cup Series. Many of these riders were at their first big race EVER and held their own and then some! Boogers raced Short Track and XC courses across all age categories, with great early season results for all competitors.

From our Race Reporter in the field:

"Sunday’s races started bright and early with the 15-16 girls. Ellen rode a strong race keeping consistency sprinting in for a 5th place finish. Scout spent her race successfully fighting off the girls behind, riding in for a 7th place in just under an hour. Julie, in cat 2, started off strong in the lead group but the dry course and flat corners contributed to a crash." We had a large group of boys racing the amateur XCO course. Issac took his second podium of the week placing 2nd in 13-14 boys. Ezra raced his 3rd consecutive race of the weekend tying it all together with a 2nd place in 17-18. Josh also rode his third race of the week keeping it consistent with a 17th place in 17-18. Markus had a strong set of laps in cat 2 17-18.

Jaxon and Bennett chased each other for a respective 13th place for Jaxon and 18th for Bennett after his sprint finish in 15-16.

Jack also rode a smooth 3 laps in for a 23rd in the same category. Enzo started off fast, flying along the course with the lead group but a broken chain took him out for the day. Ruhaan raced cat 2 15-16 showing some good bike control on the step up for a 13th place. Lincoln rolled in right behind with a smile and in 14th."

Thanks for the recap Gabby!

Though Nationals might seem like a long way off, Boogers know that putting in these early season efforts on the big stage will pay off throughout the spring and summer!
